Use Page Analytics in Liferay Data Platform to analyze engagement, audience composition, traffic sources, and navigation patterns for an individual page.

To access page analytics, navigate to Sites under Touchpoints, open the Pages tab, and select a page.

Overview

Review page performance, audience information, and visitor behavior.

The Overview tab displays page performance and visitor analytics.

Page Metrics

The Overview tab tracks these metrics:

Unique VisitorsNumber of distinct visitors who viewed the page.
ViewsTotal number of page views.
Bounce RatePercentage of sessions that ended after viewing only this page.
Time on PageAverage amount of time visitors spent on the page.
EntrancesNumber of sessions that started on the page.
Exit RatePercentage of sessions that ended on the page.

Filtering by Page Experience

If the page contains personalized experiences, use the Experiences filter to view metrics for a specific experience.

The filter contains these options:

All ExperiencesDisplays aggregated metrics across all page experiences.
Default ExperienceDisplays metrics only for the default page experience.
Individual ExperiencesDisplays metrics only for the selected page experience.

Compare metrics across experiences to evaluate the performance of personalized content.

Visitors Behavior

The Visitors Behavior chart displays page views over time, helping you identify traffic trends and engagement patterns.

The Visitors Behavior chart plots page views over the selected time period.

Audience

The Audience panel lists visitor distribution across these categories:

Known IndividualsVisitors associated with an identified profile.
Anonymous IndividualsVisitors who have not been identified.
Segmented IndividualsVisitors who belong to one or more audience segments.
Unsegmented IndividualsVisitors who do not belong to an audience segment.

The panel also displays the distribution of page views across active audience segments.

Views by Location

The Views by Location panel displays page views by geographic location.

Views by Technology

The Views by Technology panel displays page views by device type and browser.

Path

Review how visitors arrive at and leave the selected page.

The Path tab displays visitor navigation paths.

The Path tab uses a flow chart to visualize visitor navigation before and after viewing the page.

Incoming TrafficDisplays the pages or sources visitors used immediately before viewing the page.
Selected PageRepresents the page being analyzed.
Outgoing TrafficDisplays the pages visitors viewed after leaving the page.

Use this view to identify common navigation paths, entry points, and exit points.

Known Individuals

Review identified visitors who viewed the selected page.

The Known Individuals tab displays identified visitors for the selected page.

The Known Individuals tab displays visitors who have been matched to a known profile through connected data sources or identification events.

NameName associated with the individual profile.
EmailEmail address associated with the individual profile.

Select an individual to open their profile in the Individuals section and review additional activity and engagement data.

Viewing Page Analytics in DXP

Use the Content Performance panel to review page analytics while editing a page.

The Content Performance panel displays analytics for the current page within the page editor.

Note

Viewing the Content Performance panel requires permission to edit the page in Liferay DXP.

  1. Open a page in the DXP page editor.

  2. Click Content Performance (Content Performance icon) in the upper-right toolbar.

The Content Performance panel displays metrics for the current page without requiring navigation to Liferay Data Platform. For more about this tool in Liferay DXP, see About the Content Performance Tool.

Selecting a Time Period

Use the date selector (1) at the top of the panel to choose the reporting period.

The selected date range applies to all metrics and visualizations displayed in the panel.

Engagement

The Engagement section (2) displays page view activity for the page.

Total ViewsTotal number of views since the content was published.
ViewsPage views during the selected period, plotted over time to show traffic trends.

Traffic Channel

The Traffic Channel section (3) displays how visitors arrived at the page.

ChannelDescription
DirectVisitors who accessed the page directly, such as through bookmarks or by entering the URL.
OrganicVisitors who arrived through unpaid search engine results.
ReferralVisitors who arrived through links on external websites.
PaidVisitors who arrived through advertising campaigns.
SocialVisitors who arrived through social media platforms.

When traffic data is available, the panel displays both a channel breakdown and a visual distribution chart.
