Activating Digital Sales Room

Liferay DXP 2026.Q3+

Use the Digital Sales Room (DSR) to create centralized collaboration hubs for buyers. Before you can manage rooms and track engagement, you must activate the feature.

As of Liferay DXP 2026.Q3, DSR has left Beta and is available exclusively through Marketplace. Purchase it, then deploy it to your instance as described here.

  1. Download and install the Liferay DXP bundle, if you don’t have an instance yet. See Installing a Liferay Tomcat Bundle or Using Liferay Docker Images.

  2. Go to your Marketplace Customer Dashboard, click My Products, and open DSR.

  3. On the Download tab, download the DSR .lpkg file.

  4. On the Activation tab, create and download a DSR license key.

  5. Deploy the .xml license file to your Liferay DXP instance.

    For Tomcat servers, place it in the Liferay Home/deploy folder. For Docker containers, copy it into the container’s deploy directory:

    docker cp license.xml [container-id]:/opt/liferay/deploy/

  6. Deploy the .lpkg file the same way.

    docker cp [dsr-package].lpkg [container-id]:/opt/liferay/deploy/

  7. Restart Liferay DXP only after the DSR modules finish starting. The console logs a STARTED line for each DSR module, for example:

    STARTED com.liferay.site.dsr.site.initializer_[version]

    Installing the .lpkg requires a restart. On startup, the console logs a message confirming the .lpkg deployed successfully.

  8. Set the environment token, if your instance does not already have one. DSR reports engagement using Liferay Data Platform metrics, so your instance must be connected to a Liferay Data Platform environment.

    Check Global Menu → Control Panel → Instance Settings → Analytics Cloud first.

    • If the token field already holds a value, your instance is connected.

    • If the field is empty, open the Environment tab on the product’s page in your Marketplace Customer Dashboard, copy the token, and paste it into the field.

DSR is active once you can reach Global Menu → Commerce → Digital Sales Room Management.

License Expiration

Within 30 days of your DSR license’s expiration date, a warning alert appears at the top of every DSR Launchpad page: Home, Rooms, and Analytics. It counts down the days remaining, then reports the expiration once the date passes.

Digital Sales Room Management is deactivated as soon as the license expires. Your existing rooms and their sites remain in place and the people you shared them with keep their access, but Digital Sales Room Management disappears from the Global Menu and you can’t create new rooms. The Launchpad’s pages remain published, so a bookmark or direct link still opens them.

To reactivate Digital Sales Room Management, contact your Liferay sales representative to renew your DSR license. Then generate a new license key from your Marketplace customer dashboard, as described in Creating a License. Deploy the key to Liferay Home/deploy. The Global Menu entry returns once the renewed license is active.
