Fixing Insights with AI
Private Beta Feature
You can use Autofix to resolve supported insights with AI. Autofix can automatically set a page title or meta description that’s missing or empty, and can rewrite meta descriptions that are too long or too short. When you click Autofix for an affected page, AI Hub agents in the AI Assistant generate one to three suggestions for you to choose from. Autofix then applies your chosen value directly to the page.
Prerequisites
Autofix has these prerequisites:
- Liferay DXP 2026.Q1 or later. Before 2026.Q4, an instance administrator must enable the Page Management API (LPD-35443) feature flag. See Feature Availability.
- The Liferay DXP URL field on AI Hub’s Configurations page must contain a publicly reachable Liferay DXP address that includes
https://and responds without redirecting. - The Studio must connect to your Liferay DXP instance with an OAuth client ID and secret. To get them, create an OAuth 2 application in Liferay DXP that uses the Client Credentials authorization type and, on its Scopes tab, grants the
Liferay.Headless.Admin.Site.everythingscope. Then, enter them in the Client ID and Client Secret fields of the Instances section on SEO & AEO Studio’s Configurations page. - The site must have staging disabled. Liferay DXP refuses Autofix’s write command on sites with staging enabled.
Autofix uses your AI Hub account’s tokens to generate suggestions through AI Hub agents. See Tracking Usage and Token Costs.
Supported Insights
Autofix fixes pages directly in your connected Liferay DXP instance. It supports these insights:
| Insight | Fix |
|---|---|
Missing or Empty <title> Tag | Generates suggested titles for the page’s HTML Title |
| Missing or Empty Meta Description Tag | Generates suggested descriptions for the page’s Description |
| Too Long or Too Short Meta Description Tag | Rewrites the page’s current description into suggestions for its Description |
Applied Fixes
Autofix changes a page only when you select a suggestion. Changes to a page’s SEO metadata (such as page titles and meta descriptions) write directly to the page’s SEO settings in Liferay DXP and take effect on the live page immediately.
The agents target titles of 30 to 60 characters and new meta descriptions of 120 to 160 characters. When a description is too long or too short, the agent rewrites it so it falls within the 70 to 160 characters the On Page length checks accept.
Autofix overwrites the previous value without keeping it, so there is no undo. To change what it wrote, edit the field manually in the page’s SEO settings in Liferay DXP. See Page Settings UI Reference.
Fixing a Page with Autofix
Follow these steps to fix a page with Autofix:
-
Open Insight Details for a supported insight. See Viewing an Insight’s Affected Pages.

-
Click Autofix (
) for the page you want to fix.The AI Assistant opens as a side panel with a request for the fix. The request names the page by its HTML title (or by its URL if the page has no title). The insight’s agent reads the page’s crawled content and replies with one to three suggestions, each with a rationale. For information on the chat itself, see Using the AI Assistant.
-
Click the suggestion you want to apply.
Once the fix is applied, the chat closes and a success message appears. The page leaves Affected Pages immediately, and the counts in the heading and the Affected Pages (N) label update when you refresh Insight Details.
If an error such as Unable to apply the title appears instead, the chat stays open. Resolve the error using Troubleshooting, then click a suggestion again.
Troubleshooting
If Autofix can’t generate or apply a fix, find the problem below and follow its solution.
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The chat doesn’t open | An error such as Unable to generate title suggestions or Unable to generate meta description suggestions appears because the page’s content isn’t in the scan data. | Set the value in the page’s SEO settings in Liferay DXP. |
| The agent offers no suggestions | The page’s content is too sparse for the agent to suggest a value. | Set the value in the page’s SEO settings in Liferay DXP. |
| An apply error appears | Unable to apply the title or Unable to apply the meta description means the write to Liferay DXP failed. | Check that your setup meets the prerequisites. |
| The fix is applied but not marked resolved | Autofix wrote the new value to the page’s SEO settings, but the insight was not marked resolved. The message reads The title tag was applied, but the insight could not be marked as resolved. Refresh and try again (or the equivalent for a meta description), and the chat stays open. | Refresh Insight Details. If the page is still listed, it leaves Affected Pages after the next scan finds the new value on the page. |
