Configuring Spaces

Important

Currently, this feature is behind a beta feature flag (LPD-17564) and also depends on release feature flags (LPS-179669 and LPD-34594). Read Feature Flags for more information.

Use the Space Settings page to manage a space’s properties, sharing options, and languages.

To access the Space Settings page,

  1. Open the space you want to configure.

  2. In the space overview, click Actions (Actions Menu) next to the space name (1), and select Space Settings.

  3. Alternatively, navigate to All Spaces, click Actions (Actions icon) for the space you want to configure, and select Space Settings.

    Access the space settings through the space overview or the All Spaces page.

The Space Settings page includes the General and Languages sections.

After making changes, click Save at the bottom of the page to apply them, or Cancel to discard unsaved changes.

General Section

The General section defines the basic properties of a space.

Space NameName of the space (editable).
DescriptionShort description of the space (editable).
Group IDInternal identifier (read-only).
ERC (External Reference Code)Unique external reference (editable). Must be unique across all spaces.
SharingEnable or disable sharing. When disabled, the Share (Share icon) action is hidden.
MIME Type LimitRestrict uploads by file type and maximum size. Enter 0 for no limit.
Recycle BinEnable or disable the recycle bin. When enabled, deleted items are moved to the recycle bin instead of being permanently removed. Use Trash Entries Max Age to set the number of days items remain before automatic deletion.
Tip

Use MIME Type limits to prevent large file uploads that may affect performance or storage.

Languages Section

The Languages section defines which languages are active in the space.

You can either use the instance’s global language settings or define a custom default language and active languages for the space.

If you select Define a custom default language and additional active languages for this space, additional fields appear:

  • Default Language: Select the main language for the space.

  • Available Languages: Lists all supported languages. Move languages to Selected with the (Left Arrow) and (Right Arrow) arrows to activate them, and reorder them with the (Up Arrow) and (Down Arrow) arrows.

Tip

Prioritize languages based on your audience to ensure content is displayed correctly.
