With Liferay’s classic Content Management System (CMS), you can create and manage web content, documents, and media within an integrated environment. This model is optimized for web-centric delivery, so you can render content directly on your site using native building and display tools.
It contains core features such as web content, tags and categories, asset libraries, blogs, message boards, and more. These tools provide tight integration with Liferay’s page fragment and display template frameworks.
While the classic CMS remains fully supported, the Headless CMS is the recommended system for new implementations to benefit from object-based modeling and multi-channel delivery. You can operate both systems in parallel to manage traditional web pages while adopting headless workflows for multi-channel delivery.
