Acquiring Object Definitions from Marketplace

Object definitions package custom object configurations into applications. These apps are published as Client Extensions. After publication to Liferay Marketplace, you can install them in your environment.

Finding Object Definitions

Go to Liferay Marketplace.
Click the Applications menu in the header.
Select Object Definition under Category.

Tip

You can also find object definitions in the Explore by Category menu on the Marketplace home page.
Click an Object Definitions app to open the details page. Review the description, check version compatibility, and view screenshots.

Getting Object Definitions

Open the app’s detail page.
Click Get App.

Click the Get App button to install the object definitions to your environment.

Select your account, confirm that you’ve read the End User License Agreement and the Terms of Service, and click Get App.

Note

After you get the app, it appears in My Apps in the customer dashboard, where you can manage all Marketplace apps.
Click Continue to Download.
On the Download tab, select a supported version and click Download.

Installing Object Definitions

Locate the .zip file containing the object definitions you downloaded and move it into Liferay deployment folder in your computer:

[Liferay Home]/osgi/client-extensions/
Liferay detects and deploys the object definitions automatically.
Access the object definitions from Applications Menu () → Control Panel → Objects.
