Issue

  • When trying to get a journalField value via java, the field name is not the same as the one shown in the UI.
  • Example in prior versions, where the field name in both the UI and the database would be the same:
    • Field name in the UI: "Text1".
    • Field name in the database: "Text1".
    • Code to recover the field and it's value:
      Fields fields = _journalConverter.getDDMFields(
      journalArticle.getDDMStructure(), journalArticle.getContent());

      String fieldName = "Text1";

      fields.get(fieldName);

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • In DXP 7.4, the name that is shown in the UI maps the fieldReference property of the field.
  • Example:
    • Field name in the UI: "Text1".
    • Field name in the database: "Text1111345".
    • Code to recover the field and it's value:
      Fields fields = _journalConverter.getDDMFields(
      journalArticle.getDDMStructure(), journalArticle.getContent());

      String fieldRef = "Text1";

      String fieldNameByRef = journalArticle
      .getDDMStructure()
      .getDDMForm()
      .getDDMFormFieldsReferencesMap(false)
      .get(fieldRef)
      .getName();
      fields.get(fieldNameByRef);
