Issue

  • While performing security scans, there are vulnerabilities found in custom classes that are generated by Liferay Service Builder.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • Sometimes, these warnings are false positives. The reason behind this is that this is generated code (classes generated by the service builder) and should not be subject to any kind of standard coding scan.
  • However, it is recommended to scan the customizations only and leave Liferay and the generated code out of the scans to check for any possible vulnerabilities.
  • Since it is generated code, it should not be subjected to automated code review tools and there is no need to apply the recommendations from the security scan tools.
