Unable to Save Object Definition After Deleting a Fragment

Issue

  • Unable to save an Object definition after deleting a fragment from a Content Page.
  • Reproducing Steps:
    1. Create an object definition with one field.
    2. Add an object entry for this object definition.
    3. Create a content page.
    4. In the content page, add a Content Display fragment.
    5. Configure the Content Display fragment to display the created object entry.
    6. Publish the page.
    7. Edit the page again and remove the fragment altogether.
    8. Publish the page.
    9. Edit the object definition and, without any change, try to save it.

  • The following error is shown when trying to save it:
    [ExceptionMapper:59] Cannot invoke "com.liferay.fragment.model.FragmentEntryLink.getGroupId()" because "fragmentEntryLink" is nulljava.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "com.liferay.fragment.model.FragmentEntryLink.getGroupId()" because "fragmentEntryLink" is null

Environment

  • DXP 2024.Q3.12

Resolution

  • This is a known bug that has been addressed by LPD-53565
