How can I check the progress of an upgrade?

Issue

  • Is there a way to check the progress of an upgrade while it is still happening? 

Environment

  • Quarterly Release
  • 2024.Q1
  • 2023.Q4
  • 2023.Q3
  • DXP 7.4
  • DXP 7.3
  • DXP 7.2
  • DXP 7.1

Resolution

  • The simplest way to do this would be to tail the upgrade log, which is typically located in [LIFERAY_HOME]/tools/portal-tools-db-upgrade-client/logs
  • If the upgrade completes logging and Gogo shell is automatically opened, you can run the upgrade:check command to see if there are any upgrades that are pending execution
  • If the log appears to be stuck for a long time, or any errors or failures occur please open up a Help Center ticket for further assistance.
