Issue
- When we try to embed a video using <iframe> tags, during the creation the video displays, however after publishing the content and editing it again, the video is not displayed anymore and the source is updated with a sandbox attribute.
Environment
- DXP 7.4
- Quarterly release
Resolution
- The reason this occurs is because Liferay provides an integrated Iframe sanitizer that is enabled by default. This by default will sanitize any Iframe tags and add an empty Sandbox Attribute that applies all restrictions.
Iframe: Sandbox Attribute
- In case the embedded video comes from a known secure source you can disable this feature by navigating to Control panel → System Settings → Security Tools → iFrame Sanitizer.
Alternatively you can modify the Sandbox Attribute Values to allow the necessary permissions.
