There has been an issue impacting Azure Virtual Machines running Windows Client and Windows Server with the CrowdStrike Falcon agent recently
- The issue begain around 19:00 UTC on July 18, 2024 and cauess affected VMs to encounter a bug check (BSOD)and become stuck in a restarting state
- Does Liferay use any of these servers or web applications that can be vulnerable to it?
Resolution
- Liferay DXP or Liferay Cloud (both PaaS and SaaS) are not affected by the CloudStrike Falcon issue.
- Our default stack systems are not affected are not utilizing technologies that are affected (i.e. CloudStrike Falcon, Windows VMs, etc.).
- We also don't use any Microsoft technologies in the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) backend either, so Liferay SaaS environments are safe as well
