Issue
We cannot edit a document's properties if the document name does not contain a file extension and here are the steps we took:
- Navigate to Control Panel > System Settings > Documents and Media
- Change the value for File Extensions from "*" to ".txt"
- Click Save
- Navigate to any site
- Navigate to Content & Data > Documents and Media
- Click +
- Click File Upload
- Click Choose File
- Select any file with a .txt file extension
- Change the Name field value to 'My Test File' (make sure it does not include a file extension)
- Click Publish
- Click the kabob for the file you just uploaded and click Edit
- Update the description field value
- Click Publish
- You will see Error Document names must end with one of the following extensions: .txt
