Issue
- When trying to set up the QR Code for MFA settings, following this documentation Multi-Factor Authentication Checkers, we've found that the QR code doesn't populate. It should be populating under "Shared Secret", but our page is blank.
- Steps for reproduction:
Control Panel > System Settings > Multi-Factor Authentication
Uncheck Disable Multi-Factor Authentication
Instance Settings > Multi-Factor Authentication > check Enabled > Save
Go to the Time-Based One-Time Password Configuration tab
Check Enabled > Save
Click on the User icon > Account Settings > Multi-Factor Authentication
- Observe that the QR Code is missing.

Resolution
- This is a known bug to Liferay, LPD-48214, and has been fixed in 2025.Q2 and newer versions.
- Please request a hotfix including LPD-48214 or upgrade to a fixed version of Liferay.
