Issue

  • In CKeditor when editing a text and selecting a pre-formatted style other than Heading (e.g. Cited Work), then I am trying to set it back to Normal, the pre-formatted style remains and its tag could be seen when changing into Source View.
  • CKEditor includes a Styles drop-down menu which adds formatting tags, but the tags are not removed when another style option is selected. This can lead to multiple stacked tags and confusion for the end user.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0+

Resolution

  • To remove the style you should reselect the text it is applied on, then unselect the previously chosen styling. See the attached video.
  • A feature request was opened: LPS-151539. You can vote for this to bring it to the attention of our product team.
