SVG images are not visible in Web Content draft

Issue

  • SVG images are not visible on the patch level (Fix Pack 20) and they used to be visible on the previous one (Fix Pack 11)
    • Reproduction Steps
      • Setup Liferay DXP 7.1 with Fix Pack 20
      • Create a Basic document
      • Upload the file with SVG extension → Publish
      • Click on the 3-dots menu→right-click on the Download→Copy link address
      • Create a new Basic Web Content
      • Click in the web content's Content field
      • Click on the Code View button
      • Enter : <img src="dlfileurl" />
      • Replace dlfileurl with the image's link
      • Click on the Text View button
      • Expected Behavior: The SVG file is visible.

      • Actual Behavior: The SVG file is not visible.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.1 Fix Pack 20

Resolution

  • It is a known issue and if the hotfix is required for this issue, please create a support ticket requesting the hotfix by attaching the patch details.
  • Installing Fix Packs and Hotfixes on Liferay DXP will guide to install this hotfix in the respective environment.
