Issue
- I try to change the friendlyURL of one site to "site01" and I can't, it returns the error:
Error: Please enter a unique friendly URL. Site and site01 site01 have the same friendly URL.
- Checking the rest of the sites, none of them are using this friendlyURL, why is it not available?
- One of the possible causes could by that there is a user who uses that friendlyURL as
screenName.
- When a user is created, a user's own site is also created and the user's screenName is assigned as friendlyURL.
- In the above example, if a user named "site01" is created (to administer a site called "site01", for example), the friendlyURL "site01" will remain in use. Later, when trying to create the "site01" site, the friendlyURL "site01-1" will be assigned to it.
Resolution
- To change the user's friendlyUrl and make it available for use, it will be enough to change the
ScreenName of this user, it is not necessary to delete the user.
