Issue

  • Why can't I receive email notifications for Updated, Added, or Moved web content assets? My mail server is set up correctly and I am getting the Web Content Review notifications without issue.

Environment

  • DXP 7.0
  • DXP 7.1

Resolution

  • In order for a user to receive email notifications for Web Content alterations that are not defined for their role in a Kaleo workflow (such as notifications for an asset pending review), they must also "subscribe" to the folder that the content resides in.
  • To start, navigate to Site Administration > Content > Web Content, select ⠇> configuration in the top right and make sure that all of the desired "Enabled" checkboxes are selected.
  • Once those are enabled:
    • Navigate to Site Administration > Content > Web Content
    • Select the info icon (<strong>i</strong>) of the desired folder for receiving emails (this can be done on the root Web Content folder if the user wants emails for all web content assets in a site)
    • In the top right, click the “subscribe” star icon (☆)
  • This will allow that user to start receiving the enabled email notification types.

Additional Information

  • A feature was added in DXP 7.1 to subscribe to individual web content assets, instead of at the folder level, by clicking Options ( ) → Subscribe next to the article or folder you want to follow.
  • More information on publishing basic web content can be found in this Help Center article.
