Issue
- When we want to download a "bulk" file (.zip file) from Liferay's Documents and Media and the included content contains any special characters (e.g.: ö, ü, ä etc.), there are different issues depending on the OS we use:
- Windows: An extra folder is added with a corrupted name
- Linux/MacOS: Extracting the zip file fails with errors
Environment
- DXP 7.3 below Update 8
- DXP 7.4 below Update 32
Resolution
- This is a known issue, resolved by LPS-148397. You can either wait for it to be released in official Updates (Update 8 for DXP 7.3 and Update 32 for DXP 7.4), or request a hotfix from Liferay Support.
-
In case of JDK 9 or a newer version: Even if you have the fix, the download won't initiate and a new blank page opens, but nothing happens.
