Issue

  • Is there a way to change the default icon for the Control Panel to something custom?

Environment

  • DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • There are two ways to modify the favicon:
    • The easiest way is creating their own theme and there use a custom icon.
    • The other option is adding the following property to portal-ext.properties file: 
      theme.shortcut.icon=../../../myfavicon.ico
      myfavicon.ico is the name of the file you want to use. It's also important to include the extension .ico in this file. After that, they have to include in their Tomcat folder webapps/ROOT/myfavicon.ico
      *This option is less recommended because when they make an update they have to remember to review that everything is fine and nothing is overwritten. They also have to check that the files or the path don't change or are deleted.
