Issue
- When picklists are assigned guest user view permissions, the JSON API is not accessible without authentication.
Resolution
- This is the correct behavior based on the Service Access Policy. By default, API access is restricted, but by following this documentation: Making Unauthenticated Requests, guest users can be authorized to access this API.
- After adding this new Service Access Policy, the API can be accessed without using basic authentication. Additionally, removing the VIEW permission for the Guest role results in a permission exception.
