FTL Error in Category Facet with Vocabulary Layout Display Template

Issue

  • Category facet error when selecting certain categories under vocabulary layout display template.
  • Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a search page using the search template under global templates.

    2. Uncheck the inherit changes checkbox in the page configurations and save it.

    3. Go to the page created and click "Configure additional search options on this page."

    4. Enable the "Allow Empty Search" option and save.

    5. Create some vocabularies and new categories under the vocabularies.

    6. Add some web content with the categories.

    7. Go to the page created and click "Configuration" for the category facet.

    8. Change the display template to "Vocabulary Layout" and save the configuration.

    9. Select any category from the category facet now.

    10. Enter some keywords for search in the search bar and enter the search keyword in the search bar.

    Expected Behaviour: The message "No results were found" should be displayed without any errors.
    Actual Behaviour: FTL error occurs in the category facet with the message "No results were found".

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4
  • Liferay DXP 2023.Q3

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known bug that has been addressed by: LPS-203184.
  • If a hotfix is required or any more information on this, please create a support ticket requesting a hotfix by attaching patch details.
  • Installing Fix Packs and Hotfixes on Liferay DXP will guide you to install this hotfix in the respective environment.
