Issue

When editing a page in Liferay that involves dragging fragments, some users may notice that the container fragment is not visible. However, when logged in as an admin, the fragment appears correctly. The permissions of the users who should be able to view and use the fragment seem to be properly configured.

Upon further investigation, the issue arises due to missing "View" permissions on a form that was created and is linked to the container fragment. While administrators had no issue accessing the fragment, regular users could not see it because their roles lacked permission to view the form.

Environment

  • Quarterly Releases

Resolution

To resolve this issue, it is necessary to grant "View" permission on the form to the regular roles of users who should have access to the fragment. The steps to apply this fix are as follows:

  1. Navigate to the Form Builder:
  2. Go to the specific form that is linked to the fragment.
  3. Configure Form Permissions
  4. Add "View" Permission
  5. Find the regular role or any specific role that corresponds to the users facing the issue.
  6. Ensure the "View" checkbox is selected to grant visibility.
