Issue

  • We are trying to create journal articles with attached PDFs in them and index the PDF text via the IndexerPostProcessor because we would like any journal article to be keyword searchable for that PDF text and display in a list.
  • So can Liferay use Asynchronous Indexing?

Environment

  • DXP 7.0
  • DXP 7.1
  • DXP 7.2
  • DXP 7.3
  • DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • Liferay cannot use Asynchronous Indexing for PDF Text out of the box.

Additional Information

  • If you do find an issue with any associated Liferay API calls that can be reproduced and affects performance then please let us know. But indexing large PDFs in our documents and media already performs well.
