Disabling the Change Password Request When Users First Log In to Liferay

When a user first logs in to the Liferay Portal 6.1 EE, they are immediately prompted to change their password.

Resolution

While this request is the default setting, the setting can be changed via the control panel.

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Password Policies
  2. In the Default Password Policy, uncheck Change Required

This will allow new users to bypass changing their password on their first log in.
