While using Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility mode, some of the CKEditor tool bar options are missing and thus unable to be used.

Resolution

The issue has been resolved in 6.0 EE SP2 as the CKeditor has been updated to version 3.5.3.

To resolve the issue, consider upgrading to Liferay Portal 6.0 EE SP2 or the latest Liferay version.
