Batch Error encountered during upgrade using SQL Server 2019

Issue

  • When upgrading from Liferay 7.2 to Liferay 7.4, the following error may be encountered during the upgrade process when using SQL Server 2019 with MSSQL JDBC Jar Version 12.X
  • ERROR [main][DBUpgrader:79] null
    org.springframework.orm.hibernate5.HibernateJdbcException: JDBC exception on Hibernate data access: SQLException for SQL [insert into ResourceAction (mvccVersion, name, actionId, bitwiseValue, resourceActionId) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)]; SQL state [null]; error code [0]; could not execute batch; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: could not execute batch

 

Environment

  • Liferay 7.2
  • Liferay 7.4
  • SQL Server 2019

 

Resolution

  • Updating MSSQL JDBC Jar to version 7.4.1 should address the batch error.
