Issue
- I created a custom event according to the documentation
- When I check in AC, I don't see any data collected for this custom event
Resolution
- Apart from establishing the workspace connection, the current Site must also be Analytics Cloud enabled. That means that the Site must be synchronized to a Property. If you add a new site after configuring AC, it won't be AC enabled unless you update the Instance Settings > Analytics Cloud configuration to include it. Check if the Site in question is assigned to a Property.
- It could happen that Analytics.track is being triggered when the page is loaded but the Analytics instance is not yet available, so we need to ensure that the instance is available to send the custom event. In order to trigger events after the window load, you can use the following code:
window.addEventListener("load", () => {
if (window.Analytics) {
Analytics.track('neweventNameevent',{
'propertyName': 'valueName'
})
}
});
