Issue

  • I need to apply a hotfix to a custom environment but have not downloaded the hotfix file previously.
  • I need to install a SaaS hotfix in my local environment.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4
  • Quarterly Releases
  • SaaS, PaaS, Self-Hosted.

Resolution

  • You can use the Patching Tool directly to download and install the hotfix.
    • From your Liferay installation directory, run this command:
      ./patching-tool.sh install <hotfix-name>
    • For example:
      ./patching-tool.sh install hotfix-xx
    • The hotfix binary will be downloaded to the folder patching-tool/patches as usual.
    • Important: Hotfix will be specific for each Liferay version obtained from the current installation.
  • Alternatively, open a support ticket and request the desired hotfix.
