Issue
- After migrating to Liferay DXP 7.2 from previous versions, customers may notice that REST API implemented on the portal according to the JAX-RS tutorial and targeted to get a JSON object will return:
No message body writer has been found for class , ContentType: application/json
Instead of an object, like:
{"name":"Tom","department":"HR"}
Resolution
- Stop your server and cleanup the content of the
osgi/state
folder as well as tomcat/work
and /temp
folders
- Locate the
org.apache.aries.jax.rs.jackson.config
file inside osgi/configs
folder
- Modify the content so that only the below line is present:
osgi.jaxrs.application.select="(&(!(jackson.disabled=true))(osgi.jaxrs.name=*))"
- Restart the server
