Issue

  • After updating to DXP 7.2 FP dxp-13 the Spring portlets show an Unsatisfied dependency error.

Environment

  • DXP 7.2 Fix Pack dxp-13 with Spring portlets.
  • JDK 8 (If you have JDK 11, please go to the Important note at the end of the article)

Resolution

  • The most likely cause is the LPS-130603.  The error shows a problem on classloading. Inside the custom .war file there are several .jar deployed that contain the class  org.hibernate.type.CompositeType which is causing the error. They most likely be at a location like this: 
    [CustomDeploy.war]/WEB-INF/lib/[CustomJarName].jar
  • To solve this you can add the following lines on your portal.properties:

  • This will revert the behavior of the mentioned LPS.

Additional information

  • The LPS-130603 added org.hibernate.proxy to that property, which causes that every class inside org.hibernate.proxy used by Liferay end on the global classloader.
  • Liferay is using the org.hibernate.proxy of hibernate-core-3.6.10.Final and the customs war files will most likely have a dependency with another version. This conflict causes the error on classloading.
  • Removing the org.hibernate.proxy from the bootloader resolves the confict.

 

  • IMPORTANT: If you have JDK 11, this resolution will not work for you. You can open a support ticket referring to this article and also to the LPS-137329 so support can create a hotfix for you.
