The following is a checklist for getting blogs to stage if you're experiencing difficulties. While the example is blogs, this could apply to any content.

Resolution

When attempting to stage blog content:

  1. Before turning on staging, be sure to check Blogs. By default, Blogs are not checked. If left unchecked, exporting a .LAR from the blog portlet will yield no data.
  2. If staging has already been turned with Blogs unchecked, do the following:
    1. Completely turn off staging.
    2. Check Blogs before saving and enable staging again.
  3. If turning staging off is undesirable, you can do the following:
    1. Click the Blog portlet to add to the existing Staging environment (entries will now disappear in staging.)
    2. Navigate to page where blog is instantiated and use the 'Copy page from Live' feature. This can be found by clicking Manage > Page > Copy from Live.
    3. On the Staging page, blog entries will now be present.
    4. From here you can export a .LAR containing all entries.
