Issue
- As an administrator, I apply the hotfixes which are received from Liferay on multiple of our projects (for example SPACEPROGRAM and SPACEPROGRAMINTRA)
- However, depending on which project ID a ticket is submitted, the received patches may not contain all the previously received fixes from the other project.
Environment
- All Liferay Portal and DXP environments
Resolution
-
Some patches between different projects may technically can be applied on each other in Patching Tool. Although, please keep in mind: it is not recommended to share hotfixes between projects, because it may cause the unwanted situation of 'loosing' fixes
-
Our patch management process has been designed to build hotfixes in a strict sequence within the same project, therefore it is not considering the patch history of any different projects than the current one
-
In accordance to this, if one would like to receive the same fixes on a project different than the particular one where the ticket has been opened at, the recommended way would be to issue a separate ticket for the other project(s) as well. This case Liferay is happy to serve you with such requests and provide patches for all the required projects - separately
-
Only this way we are able to assure the right fixes are provided for each of the projects.
