Issue
In order to change the session timeout of Liferay, the following files have been changed. LiferayHome/tomcat-X.X.X/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/web.xml
After applying Fixpack and Hotfix, will theweb.xml file revert to its default state?
Environment
Liferay DXP 7.0, Liferay DXP 7.1, Liferay DXP 7.2
Resolution
LiferayHome/tomcat-X.X.X/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/ The web.xml file in the folder will be overwritten by the 4 files in the patch will be overwritten by the files in the 5 patch, erasing any settings you may have changed when applying the patch. The custom configuration must be added again before restarting the application server.
To prevent the adjusted timeout setting from being reverted, a feature request LPS-52033 has been created.
In DXP 7.0 and 7.1, the event can be improved by using the Ext plugin. Please refer to Modifying the web.xml with Ext Pluginsfor more information..
