API and UI validator do not match for e-mail address in update-user

Issue

  • If I want to update a user's email address and give an invalid value, the UI validator prevents me to do so.
  • However, there is no server-side validation, so it can be done via the jsonws API or Groovy script.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0

Resolution

  • Install fix pack de-86, which will enable the server-side validation of the e-mail address
