Issue

  • As an administrator, I would like to make the files uploaded by one user through the forms upload field hidden from other users, but I don't see a way to restrict view permissions to the Document Library root folder (where documents are stored when using the forms upload field) without also removing view permissions to the entire Document Library for all guests and users.
  • Is there a way to change whether users are able to view files which were uploaded through the forms upload field by other users?

Environment

  • 7.2
  • 7.1

Resolution

  • After updating to dxp-10+ for 7.2 or dxp-21+ for 7.1 (when the fix for LPS-122339 was implemented), a private folder will be created for each user, which will then be used by default for that user's forms uploads.
  • To have private folders created, users must be assigned the following permissions:
Documents and Media > Documents: Add Folder
Documents and Media > Documents Folder: Add Document

Additional Information

  • Users for whom private folders are created can still choose to upload documents to any other folder to which they have access. They simply need to navigate away from their private folder and to the desired file path through the forms upload interface.
