Issue

  • We have a dynamic query that uses a group by clause. When we execute it below error is shown on the log:
error: Caused by: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException:In aggregated query without GROUP BY, expression #1 of SELECT list contains nonaggregated column 'lportal.this_.searchText'; this is incompatible with sql_mode=only_full_group_by

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.2, Liferay PaaS

Resolution

  • Modify sql_mode in database service. You can modify it via environment variables or inside lcp.json file of database service.
  • Name of the environment variable:
    LCP_GCP_DATABASE_FLAG_SQL_MODE
  • Values:
    STRICT_TRANS_TABLES,NO_ZERO_IN_DATE,NO_ZERO_DATE,ERROR_FOR_DIVISION_BY_ZERO,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION
