Unable to create a site with the required vocabulary

Issue

  • When creating a category vocabulary with the Associated Asset Type set to 'Site' and 'Required', a new Site cannot be created.

  • Steps to Reproduce
    (1)Open the menu on the upper right and select the Global Site
    (2)Navigate to Categorization --> Categories and create a Vocabulary with Associated Asset Types set to 'Site' and 'Required'
    (3)Add a Category to this Vocabulary
    (4)Navigate to Control Panel -> Sites -> Sites and try to create a new Site then save
    Observed behavior: A category selector is present for each required vocabulary on the create Site modal
    Actual behavior: The Site is not created.
    “An expected error occurred" appears in the UI, and the following error appears in the log:
    ERROR [http-nio-8080-exec-1][GroupExceptionRequestHandler:89] null

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known Liferay 7.3 bug that is fixed by LPS-143509.
  • If the hotfix is required for this issue, please create a support ticket requesting the hotfix by attaching the patch details.
  • Installing Fix Packs and Hotfixes on Liferay DXP will guide you to install the Fixpack/Hotfix in your environment.
