Issue

  • Which entry should be added to the web.server.host property in case there are multiple instances added on a single Liferay portal.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.1
  • Liferay DXP 7.2
  • Liferay DXP 7.3
  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • In case there are multiple instances/ virtual hosts added over a single Liferay portal it is advised to comment out this particular property.
  • Because in case of multiple domain, we want the liferay to generate the relative urls. But if we specify the web.server.host property liferay generates the static urls by using the domain configured against this property.
