Issue

  • For intranet environments, anonymous users increase even though all users should be known. This is seemingly caused by analytics tracking users before they log in to a login page.
  • An example of a login page that is tracked would be
    • https://liferay.com/c/portal/saml/acs
    • https://liferay.com/web/guest/login

Environment

  • Analytics Cloud

Resolution

  • Disable the Analytics Client from tracking users that are not logged in by using the Liferay API script as provided:
    Liferay.ThemeDisplay.isSignedIn();

    Knowing that, we can use the AC feature to disable the Analytics Client:

    window['ac_client_disable_tracking'] = !Liferay.ThemeDisplay.isSignedIn();
