Issue

  • Trigger workflow for hidden content pages is not working

  • Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Navigate to Site Menu > Site Builder > Pages
    2) Add a blank
    3) Navigate to page configuration, set 'Hidden from Navigation Menu Widget' to 'Yes', and click on the Save button
    4) Navigate to Site Menu > Configuration > Workflow
    5) Set Single Approver to Content Page
    6) Navigate to the created page, add a Heading fragment and click on Submit for Publication
    7) Navigate to My Workflow Tasks > Assigned to My Roles (1)
    8) View the page as a guest user
    Expected Behavior:
    (1) There should be a Task waiting for the Review
    (2) The Heading fragment should not be displayed to the Guest user
    Observed Behavior:
    (1) There is no Task to review
    (2) The Heading fragment is available to the Guest user

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3
  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known bug of DXP 7.3 which is addressed by LPS-163478
  • However, DXP 7.4 already has this feature in place. For more information, please see here: LPS-155101
