Issue
- When tailing the upgrade log in a new terminal separate from where the upgrade was initiated, the following logs indicating the completion of an upgrade may not be printed:
Completed Liferay core upgrade process in xxxxx seconds
Checking to see if all upgrades are completed… done”
Resolution
- This is the expected behavior when tailing the upgrade log from a different terminal, as the last two lines indicating the upgrade completed uses system.out, which will not print anything if the original terminal is closed.
- The other messages in the upgrade log pass through because they are coming from a logger, and this outputs the file differently.
-
Main takeaway: As long as the console where the upgrade was initially executed prints the completion results, it means that the upgrade is completed.
