Issue
- When trying to invite users to a Publication, some of them don't show up in the "Invite Users" box, despite having the Publications User role.
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.4
- Quarterly Releases
Resolution
- The users (the one who wants to invite, and the one who needs to be invited) must be members of the same site, in order to see each other.
- After doing that, the users should appear in the "Invite Users" box when inviting them to a Publication. If that is not your case, check the next section.
Invite Users permission
- A new permission has been added in 2024.Q3 to address some related problems: Invite Users.
- This permission allows publication users with that permission to add other users with Publication permissions.
- An Administrator user can still see all users in the invite dropdown but the Publication User can only see other Publication Users.
- If the Publication User has the "Invite Users" permission then they can also add non-publication users if their email is known. Please let me know if you have any questions.
