Issue

  • When performing an export operation, it takes too long. When it finishes, the resulting LAR size is much heavier than expected too.
  • It applies to Staging as well.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3+

Resolution

  • This may be caused because you AssetLink table is heavily populated.
  • In 7.3, all asset links from the site are included when exporting by default. As a result, many StagedAssetLink entries get added to the resulting LAR.
  • This can be changed using this setting: Instance Settings > Infrastructure > Export/Import > Include All Asset Links.
    • Note: this setting is available since 7.3 U6. For prior 7.3 versions, you may request a hotfix with the following fix: LPS-154040.
  • Since 7.4, it is unchecked by default.
