Issue

  • Can we enable users to create organizations that are at a higher level in the hierarchy than their own membership?
  • Example:
    • Parent > Organization > Child Organization > Child Organization 2.0
      • Can a user belonging to the "Child Organization" create organizations like "Organization"?

Environment

  • DXP 7.4+
  • Quarterly Release

Resolution

  • Unfortunately, this is not possible with the way Liferay is configured. There are special permission checks within Liferay that allow users to create suborganizations but does not allow them to create organizations at a higher level.
