Issue

  • You might encounter a behavior where a race condition occurs due to the high number of DDM entries in your environment:
    2021-03-18 09:54:44,010 INFO [Portal Dependency Manager Component Executor--1][UpgradeProcess:93] Upgrading com.liferay.dynamic.data.mapping.internal.upgrade.v3_2_8.UpgradeDDMFormDocumentLibraryFields
    2021-03-18 09:55:30,026 WARN [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8009-exec-1][DependencyManagerSyncImpl:85] Dependency manager sync timeout after waiting 60s
    2021-03-18 10:14:43,516 INFO [Portal Dependency Manager Component Executor--1][UpgradeProcess:107] Failed upgrade process com.liferay.dynamic.data.mapping.internal.upgrade.v3_2_8.UpgradeDDMFormDocumentLibraryFields in 1199506 ms
    2021-03-18 10:14:43,555 ERROR [Portal Dependency Manager Component Executor--1][UpgradeStepRegistratorTracker:184] Failed upgrade process for module com.liferay.dynamic.data.mapping.service

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0+

Resolution

  • Raise the DB connection timeout
  • Raise the Dependency Manager sync timeout as needed (sec):
    module.framework.properties.dependency.manager.sync.timeout=60
  • Disable to the dependency manager temporarily until the upgrade is done:
    module.framework.properties.dependency.manager.thread.pool.enabled=false
