Issue

  • When trying to upgrade from 7.4 to Quarterly Release 2023, the upgrade fails with the following error.
  • Failed upgrade process for module com.liferay.search.experiences.service

    com.liferay.portal.kernel.log.LogSanitizerException: com.liferay.portal.kernel.upgrade.UpgradeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: operator does not exist: bigint = character varying_ Hint: No operator matches the given name and argument types. You might need to add explicit type casts._ Position: 69 [Sanitized]

Environment

  • DXP 7.4 

Resolution

  • This is a known issue that is documented in LPS-203687.
  • The resolution would be to upgrade to a Liferay Quarterly Release 2024.Q.1 or later.
