Issue

  • When attempting to start a build for an environment, the build fails to start.
  • Also, when accessing Jenkins CI, the user runs into an error on the page showing "A problem occurred while processing the request"

Environment

  • Liferay PaaS
  • Liferay DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • Both of the mentioned issues are related to an issue with Jenkins.
  • Jenkins has a bug where the spring-web-5.3.11. jar file does not get downloaded, but recently has started requiring it, causing the issue mentioned above.
  • If the Jenkins volume is persisted, then the older version of Jenkins will not try to reinstall the jar file
  • To resolve this issue, clean the volume and start fresh, and the newer version of Jenkins will properly install this dependency.
