Translation fields with empty values due to a structure with repeated fields

Issue

  • The translation is lost when the default translation is not filled
  • Reproduction Steps
    • Setup Liferay DXP 7.1 with Fix Pack 16
    • Create a structure with the title TestStructure using structure.json as the source
    • Create a web content TestWebContent using TestStructure
    • Change the language, e.g. to French
    • Repeat the Chart section name section 2 times (so there would be 3 Chart section name sections)
    • In each Chart section name, repeat the Year section 2 times (so there would be 6-year sections)
    • Fill in the fields: Title, Chart section name, Year with some text (I entered 1fr | 2fr | 3fr for each section's fields)
    • Publish the web content
    • Open the language, change the language to the one you used (French)
      Expected Behavior: The filled fields show the correct value, untouched fields have no values stored in them.
      Actual Behavior: Certain fields will have null stored in them.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.1 with Fix Pack 16

Resolution

  • It is a known issue and has been resolved in Liferay DXP 7.1 Fix Pack 25.
  • However, if the hotfix is required for this issue, please create a support ticket requesting the hotfix by attaching the patch details.
  • Installing Fix Packs and Hotfixes on Liferay DXP will guide to install this hotfix in the respective environment.
