The Sort widget does not return accurate results on the first try

Issue

  • Some inconsistencies in the sort widget's behavior
  • Steps to reproduce:
    1) Create 3-4 web contents with the keyword 'test' at different time intervals to see the time difference in their creation.
    2) Create a widget page
    3) Drag and drop the 'Search Bar', 'Search Result', and 'Sort' widgets on this page
    4) Configure the 'Sort' widget so that it only has two options: 'Modified' and 'Created'.
    5) Now, search for 'test' and we will get a web content list
    Expected Behavior: The web content list should be correctly sorted by creation date.
    Observed Behavior: The list of web content is not in proper order, however, if we try again to select any option from 'Modified' or 'Created', it returns correct results based on the date.

Additional Information

  • Note: Please be aware that DXP 7.3 GA1 was released almost 3 years ago at the time of writing this article, so providing a hotfix on such an old baseline may necessitate additional action or challenge depending on the situation or use cases. As a result, please plan ahead of time for future references, as we always recommend upgrading to the most recent patches to avoid any critical concerns or bugs.
